Atlas Packaging has been shortlisted for two major industry awards this year recognising the success of the company and the innovative products being produced. Atlas has reached the final four in the UK Packaging Awards for best Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) business and is also a finalist in the FlexoTech International Print Awards for best Promotional Print.
Atlas Managing Director Jason Sharman is delighted with the recognition: "These award nominations reflect the hard work put in by everyone in the company. We talk a lot about teamwork and this really does show what can be achieved when you have a great team working closely together."
Atlas has been nominated in the best 'SME' category
The UK Packaging Awards covers the entire packaging industry not just corrugated cardboard so for Atlas to be selected within the final four is a great achievement for the North Devon based company. Atlas highlighted its growing financial performance alongside the opportunities for staff to progress with appropriate skills and training and its continued reinvestment in production equipment including a £1.75M purchase of a CUIR Flexo Printing Machine.
Atlas bottle pack nominated for best 'Promotional Print'
Atlas has also been shortlisted in the FlexoTech International Print and Innovation Awards for its specialist work producing packaging with eye catching printing. It's been nominated in the best Promotional Print category for its bottle pack that was created with a UV gloss varnish and specialist use of metallic ink.
Print Development Manager Nevil Clarke said the team now has a huge amount of experience to achieve outstanding prints: "Working with UV ink has its difficulties but with experience our operators are now used to handling the medium with the same ease and confidence that they do with water-based inks. The varied and unique effects achievable with UV on post-print corrugated really is something to shout about. We promote its benefits to our customers at every opportunity."
Both awards are highly regarded within the industry with both awards ceremonies being held in London this October.
