British Cheese Awards 2022

We know our cheese!

The British Cheese Awards returned in style with more than 450 cheeses from across the country being entered into the competition that this year took place as part of the Dairy Show. Atlas Packaging continued its sponsorship of the event as the corrugated cardboard box maker produces custom made cheese packaging. Amongst the entrants, and also judging, was Mary Quicke from Quicke’s Cheese which is based near Exeter. Quicke’s chose Atlas Packaging for their boxes due to the attention to detail and their expertise as Mary explains:

“Atlas have been really great working with us to come up with some interesting innovations in packaging that enable us to work with consumers directly. We export our cheese all over the world and that cheese has got to arrive in good condition.”

Atlas Packaging sponsors the best packaging award which this year was presented by Atlas’s Sales Representative for Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire, Lindsay Evans. The winners were Godminster Cheese from Somerset. Atlas Packaging prides itself on making the best possible packaging for cheese that can cope with cold environments as well as continuing to look good on the shelf edge according to Sales Director Mark Leverton:

“We’ve been working with cheese producers large and small for many, many years. So, we’ve developed a wealth of experience and knowledge of understanding of their requirements. Many of the tools and applications we’ve got understand how cold temperatures and chilled environments can have an impact on the packaging and how they need to perform.”
